Hello Summer

Wow, has it been HOT this week! Monday marked the official “first day of summer” and BAM. Summer was like, “HEEEYYYY!”

One of my best friends loooves 90 degree weather…I am not one of those people. And neither are my kiddos. We get beet red faces and zone out. ‘Cause we just can’t handle it. In order to stay cool this week and for the rest of the summer, we have a new page on listing all the pools, water parks, and lakes in the North County.

And because we all know that sometimes it’s just not possible to get out of the house and remain a sane parent, here’s a list of at-home, water-conscious kid activities from another California mom.

A few things to note…

  • SAFETY FIRST! Don’t assume someone else is watching your child(ren).
  • Lifeguards are in short supply this summer, which means the pool schedules are a little complicated. The pools run by SLO County are almost always closed on Mondays. Just make sure you know the hours before you head out.
  • No one likes a dirty pool…keep those swim diapers on the little ones!
  • Sun protection is important–for you and your kiddos.

Stay cool and enjoy your time in the water!
